KENET
Precision cooling held inside tolerance for Kenya’s research and education network, under an annual SLA.

Challenge
The Kenya Education Network Trust (KENET) is the national Research and Education Network, delivering cost-effective, high-speed internet and digital infrastructure to institutions across Kenya. Its mission-critical data centres run continuously, and precision cooling must hold temperature and humidity within tight tolerances to keep computing and network hardware online.
A cooling shortfall forces thermal shutdowns, so the plant needs disciplined, accountable maintenance rather than reactive call-outs.
Solution
Proactive Networks provides annual service and support under a Service Level Agreement for KENET’s data-centre sites, equipped with 2× 34kW Liebert and 2× 35kW Vertiv precision cooling systems. Scheduled work covers refrigerant circuits, compressors, condenser and evaporator cleaning, filters, condensate management and verification of temperature and humidity setpoints, with the units assessed as a coordinated system so redundancy is maintained.
Outcome
KENET’s data-centre environment is held within its target band year-round, with defined SLA response terms so faults are attended under agreed timeframes. KENET’s confidence rests on Proactive Networks’ substantial investment in data-centre cooling technology and the proven capacity of its engineers to support data-centre customers.
